- Mean Eyed Cat Bar
This downtown Austin landmark is built in an old, seemingly dilapidated building with tons of character and fond memories. A familiar haunt for many throughout the years, the Mean Eyed Cat is its own brand of weird.
If you’re looking for gorgeous scenic pictures in Austin, take a climb on Mount Bonnell and you’ll find stunning panoramas overlooking the historic Pennybacker Bridge. This spot has everything from city skylines to serene nature.
3. South Congress
The super hip SoCo district hosts a variety of unique shops, iconic Austin restaurants and a fantastic view of the capitol building surrounded by towering skyscrapers. Just about anywhere you look there are pic-worthy places and moments on this busy city street.
4. Hope Outdoor Art Gallery and Graffiti Wall
Austin’s graffiti and street artists have brought a unique rebel beauty to the capitol city. The anonymous tags and murals have become permanent displays in a city turned art gallery. Built on a cliff overlooking beautiful lake Travis, the enormous Oasis is home to a successful restaurant and brewery and is a great place to take pictures of a breathtaking sunset over a sparkling lake.
6. Hike and Bike Boardwalk on Ladybird Lake
For great downtown Austin panoramas of the Frost Bank and other iconic city skyscrapers, take a walk on the boardwalk over Ladybird Lake. There you’ll find 360 degree views and glittering cityscapes mirrored on still blue water.
